Presented at Coll. exhibition ‘Woman Rising’, San Francisco, 2024:
‘With bandage pieces and letters, I scattered my name S-E-Y-D-O-U-X, as I have always felt scattered wearing it. This name I inherited from a man has little sense to me, yet it is my entry door to the world. It has been haunting. Since the day I could speak. So I cut it in pieces. Aligned them together. Tried to repair something, some sense of identity that was defined by patriarchy. Little did I know that I would transition the year later, and reclaimed a possibility of living in my own name.’
